Smaller containers are increasingly in demand across the UK, particularly for storage and space-efficient solutions, such as 10ft and 8ft containers. Their smaller size makes them ideal for use in tight spaces, often fitting comfortably within a standard parking bay. These containers are also commonly used at self-storage facilities, providing flexible solutions to meet the increased need for smaller and more adaptable storage options. Since these smaller containers are not intended for transporting goods, they are typically imported as complete sets to enhance cost efficiency.

Once these mini-sets arrive at our depot, they can be either separated and sold individually or, more commonly, sold as complete sets.

Mini-sets are CSC plated for export as a standard for five years from the date of manufacture.

We offer the following mini-sets:
2 x 10-foot containers and 2 x 8-foot containers sold as a set.

All our units are normally delivered by HIAB lorry. On sites with restricted access, we may need to use an alternate delivery method such as a forklift or a telescopic handler.

Our Sales Team will get in touch once you have placed the order to discuss and arrange the delivery with you. In the rare cases when we cannot get all the information about site access over the phone or using satellite and street views, we can offer a site visit to assess whether or not delivery is possible.

The maximum capacity of a lorry is the equivalent to one 40ft container. The delivery cost is calculated depending on the container size and the distance from your local depot to the provided delivery postcode when placing your order.

Please note that delivery times vary depending on stock availability, time of the year and your location.

For accurate delivery information please contact us using our contact form or by calling our customer service offices.

FAQs

The age of a used container can vary considerably but usually they are sold by shipping lines after about 10 years of service.

Although some shipping containers are made of aluminium and steel, the majority are now made entirely of a rust-prohibitive steel called “Corten’’. A basic steel frame, fitted with weight-bearing castings fitted into the eight container corners, is filled in with corrugated steel panels which are between 1.5mm to 3.00mm thick. At one end is a pair of almost full width and height doors. These are normally fitted with four locking bars which interlock with the frame top and bottom. Most containers have a 27mm thick wooden ply floor which is supported on load bearing cross-bearers approximately 30cms apart, making the container capable of withstanding loads of 20 to 35 tons – depending on size.

A new container built by a reputable manufacturer will, under normal conditions, last 10 years without maintenance and continue for another 10- 20 years if serviced and maintained as advised.

The anticipated length of usage as a storage container depends on its condition at point of sale, the careful use and regular maintenance. Painting and servicing can prolong the life of a container.
